Investments

 

The Investments Committee is responsible for learning and discussing the fundamentals of finance and stock pitches with the intention of providing a close knit women-in-finance affinity group in the Wharton Women community. Members will learn about the basics of a stock pitch, recruiting, and finance industry, and compete in an internal stock pitch competition in close knit team with team mentorship.

 
 

2026 Committee

Lauryn Bonds

Lauryn Bonds (Class of 2029) is from Memphis, Tennessee and plans to pursue a degree in Cognitive Neuroscience with a minor in Design. She joined Wharton Women her Freshman fall on the Investments Committee. Outside of Wharton Women, Lauryn is involved in Penn Spark, REACH, and Penn Neuroscience Society. In her free time, she loves thrifting, watching movies, painting, trying new restaurants + cafes, and listening to a variety of music.

Melody Cao

Melody Cao (Class of 2029) is from Toronto, Canada and plans to concentrate in Finance and Business Analytics and minor in Cinema and Media Studies. She joined Wharton Women’s Investments Committee in her Freshman Fall. At Penn, Melody is involved with WAX, MUSE, UME, PennSEM, 34th St, SPEC Jazz and Grooves. In her free time, she enjoys skateboarding, bouldering, going to the gym, watching movies, and going to concerts.


Maggie Chang

Sophie Zhang (Class of 2029) is from McLean, Virginia and plans to pursue a double concentration in Finance and Real Estate. She joined Wharton Women her Freshman spring on the Investments Committee. Outside of Wharton Women, Sophie is involved with Penn Hype Crew, Penn Dance Company, WUREC, and WAX. In her free time, she loves exploring the Philly food scene, traveling, and watching movies. 


Anika Chitnis

Anika Chitnis (Class of 2029) is from Seattle, WA and plans to pursue a double concentration in Finance and Business Analytics and a minor in Law and Society. She joined Wharton Women her Freshman Spring on the Investments Committee. Outside of Wharton Women, Anika is involved with MUSE Consulting, Wharton Undergraduate in Public Policy, and Wharton Retail Club. In her free time, she loves thrifting, trying new cafes, baking, and exploring the city with friends.

Saahira Dayal

Saahira Dayal (Class of 2029) is from the Bay Area, CA and plans to double concentrate in Finance and Stats and Data Science with a minor in CS. She joined Wharton Women her Freshman fall on the Investments Committee. Outside of Wharton Women, Saahira is involved in Girls into VC, WAX, WUVG, and SFCU. In her free time, she loves finding new study spots with her friends on campus, trying new restaurants, carspotting, watching movies, sculpting, and fencing.

Maggie Gu

Maggie Gu (Class of 2028) is from Bay Area, CA and is pursuing a dual degree in Sociology and concentrations in Finance and Marketing. She joined Wharton Women her Sophomore Fall on the Investments Committee, and is excited to be returning as an Investments Lead! Outside of Wharton Women, Maggie is involved with SCUE, MUSE, SIC, CFA, WAX, and UES. In her free time, you can catch her crocheting, handcrafting matchas, cafe-hopping, adding to her Beli, browsing Trader Joe’s aimlessly, junk journaling, and taking pictures on her mini iPhone 5.

Anya Jain

Anya Jain (Class of 2029) is from Pittsburgh, PA and is pursuing a dual-degree in biology and health care management under the LSM program. She joined Wharton Women in her freshmen fall as a Catalyst member in her Freshman Fall and later joined the Investments committee in her freshman spring. Outside of Wharton Women, Anya is involved with PUBS, WinC, WUFFA, WUHC, and SAWS. In her free time, she enjoys watching new Netflix shows, baking, ceramics, and exploring cafes in Philly.

Molly Lee

Molly Lee (Class of 2029) is from Seoul, South Korea and is studying Finance and Legal Studies at Wharton. She joined Wharton Women her Freshman Fall on the Investments committee. Outside of Wharton Women, Molly is involved in PennSori A cappella, WITG, and WUFC. In her free time, she likes to explore new restaurants and cafes, watching Netflix shows, and travel. 

Prinda Li

Prinda Li (Class of 2029) is from Hong Kong and is pursuing a degree in Artificial Intelligence in the Engineering school. She joined Wharton Women her Freshman Fall on the Investments Committee. Outside of Wharton Women, Prinda is involved in WAX, WUFC, REACH, and RCF. In her free time, she enjoys photography, tennis, skiing, and exploring new restaurants.

Mary Liu

Mary Liu (Class of 2028) is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is studying Finance and AI for Business at Wharton with a minor in Data Science & Analytics. She joined Wharton Women her Freshman spring on the Investment Committee. Outside of Wharton Women, Mary is involved in Scholars of Finance. In her free time, she loves playing badminton, eating desserts that are not too sweet, playing guitar, reading novels, and journaling. Please give her good restaurant recs!

Shreya Rao

Shreya Rao (Class of 2029) is from Chapel Hill, NC. She is pursuing a dual-degree in computer science and finance. She joined Wharton Women her Freshman fall on the Investments Committee. Outside of Wharton Women, Shreya is involved with PennSEM as a spire fellow and is passionate about exploring the intersection of technology, markets, and entrepreneurship. In her free time, she loves watching k-dramas and c-dramas, reading books, exploring center city, cafe hopping, and going ice skating!

Anya Sen

Anya Sen (Class of 2029) is from New York City, NY and plans to pursue a major in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE). She joined Wharton Women her Freshman Spring on the Investments Committee. Outside of Wharton Women, Anya is involved with a few UPenn consulting clubs and social impact work. In her free time, you can catch Anya listening to music, calling friends, and shopping.

Annabelle Soo

Annabelle Soo (Class of 2029) is from Hong Kong and plans to pursue a double concentration in OIDD and Finance. She joined Wharton Women her Freshman Spring on the Investments Committee. Outside of Wharton Women, Annabelle is involved in Keynotes A Cappella, AIS, WUFFA and WAX. In her free time, you can catch Annabelle having snowball fights with friends, trying new restaurants and ranking them on Beli, and exploring the city.

Melody Tian

Melody Tian (Class of 2028) is from Dallas, TX and plans to pursue a double concentration in Finance and Legal Studies. She joined Wharton Women her Sophomore Fall on the Investments Committee. Outside of Wharton Women, Melody is involved with the MUSE, UnEarthed, WAX, PULJ, and works as a Writing Fellow in the Writing Center. In her free time, you can catch her trying new restaurants and cafes, drawing, baking, and going on side quests with friends. 

Katya Vasnetsov

Katya Vasnetsov (Class of 2029) is from Puerto Rico and plans to pursue degrees in Biology and Finance as part of the dual-degree Life Sciences & Management program. She joined Wharton Women her Freshman fall on the Investments Committee. Outside of Wharton Women, Katya is involved with WITG Healthcare, WUCC Consulting, WUHC Investments, and Wharton Pickleball. In her free time, Katya enjoys traveling to new countries, doing pilates & Solidcore, cafe-hopping for the best matcha lattes, and playing pickleball.

Leanne Vuong

Leanne Vuong (Class of 2029) is from Atlanta, GA and plans to pursue a double concentration in Finance and OIDD with a minor in Design. She joined Wharton Women her Freshman Spring on the Investments Committee. Outside of Wharton Women, Leanne is involved in Wharton STEP, SFCU, WUFFA, WUFC, Product Space @ Penn, and the Daily Pennsylvanian. In her free time, she enjoys making ceramics, playing the piano, traveling to scenic spots, going on long walks, and trying new cafes with friends.


Mischa Wijesekera

Mischa Wijesekera (Class of 2029) is from Houston, TX and plans to concentrate in Finance and Management and minor in International Relations. She joined Wharton Women her Freshman Fall on the Investments Committee. Outside of Wharton Women, Mischa is involved with Wharton Investment & Trading Group, Wharton Undergraduate Finance Club, The Daily Pennsylvanian, UnEarthed, and the Penn Ski & Snowboard Team. In her free time, she loves playing tennis, skiing, and travelling.

Yina Yao

Yina Yao (Class of 2029) is from Shanghai, Hong Kong, Philly, and NYC. She plans to pursue Material Science Engineering at Penn. She joined Wharton Women investment committee her freshman fall. Outside Of Wharton Women, Yina is involved with MUSE consulting, WUFC and DJ@Penn. In her free time, Yina enjoys playing squash, baking, making crafts and glass fusion.
