Finance

 

The Finance Committee is responsible for organizing events and initiatives with the intention of promoting financial transparency and education in the Wharton Women community. Committee members collaborate with the Wharton Finance Department to grow the Wharton Women in Finance Speaker Series, contribute posts to the Walnut Street Journal blog, and run Saturday Skills Workshops to teach students about personal finance tips and tricks.

 
 

2024 Committee

Giulia Conti Fruet

Giulia Conti Fruet (Class of 2025) is from Itu, Sao Paulo (Brazil). She's a junior at the Wharton School of Business concentrating in Business Analytics and Finance with a minor in Hispanic Studies. Giulia first started at Wharton Women in the Dollar Scholars and Dressing for Success Committees during her Freshman Year. In her Sophomore Year, she joined Wharton Women Board as the VP of Philanthropy, Community. As the upcoming VP of Finance, Giulia is excited to maintain the relationship between the Club and Wharton Finance and lead the Finance Committees. Outside of Wharton Women, Giulia is an OIDD 1010 TA and an officer for her sorority. In her free time, Giulia loves reading, running, and working out. Rachel Yu

Rachel Yu (Class of 2027) is from Brooklyn, New York and is dual concentrating in Finance and Real Estate at Wharton. She joined Wharton Women’s Finance Committee during the fall semester of her freshman year and is looking forward to learning more from the amazing women in the club. Rachel’s other involvements include the Student Federal Credit Union, Wharton Asia Investments, and STEP. Eliana Nitkin

Eliana Nitkin (Class of 2028) is from Potomac, Maryland and is planning on concentrating in Finance in Wharton and minoring in Chinese. She joined Wharton Women this fall and is excited to help empower women interested in finance and write in the Walnut Street Journal. In her free time, Eliana loves sewing, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Outside of Wharton Women, she’s also involved in Black Wharton. Viktoriia Bregen

Viktoriia Bregen (Class of 2028) is from Northeast Philadelphia, originally from Western Ukraine. She’s a freshman at the Wharton School, concentrating in Finance and Strategic Management with a minor in Real Estate. Viktoriia joined the Wharton Women Finance Committee during her freshman fall and is deeply committed to advocating for financial literacy as part of her mission with the organization. She is currently a board member of the Wharton Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity Group and is also involved in the Ukrainian Student Association, Wharton Cohorts, and Nonprofit Connect (Consulting). Irene Jiang

Irene Jiang (Class of 2025) is from St. Cloud, Minnesota, and is concentrating in Finance and Legal Studies. She first joined Wharton Women during her freshman year as a member of the Marketing committee, helping to promote Wharton Women events to the Penn community as an event liaison. Last semester, she was a writer for the Walnut Street Journal and is excited to continue writing for the blog, now as a member of the Finance committee. Outside of Wharton Women, she serves on the executive board for both Wharton Business Law Association and Wharton Bridge Consulting. She is also a member of the Investments Team for the Wharton Undergraduate Founders and Funders Association. Kathleen Yu

Kathleen Yu (Class of 2028) is from Houston, Texas and plans to concentrate in OID and Finance at Wharton. Kathleen joined Wharton Women her freshman fall and is extremely excited to be involved in the Finance Committee to continue conducting educational outreach. Some of her other involvements include the Wharton Undergraduate Finance Club, Wharton Asia Investments, MUSE Consulting, and Wharton Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Club. Angela Chen

Angela Chen (Class of 2026) is from Bayside, New York and is concentrating in Finance and Business Analytics at Wharton with a minor in Data Science. She joined Wharton Women on the Finance committee during her freshman spring semester and she is excited to be a part of the tight knit community at Wharton Women while learning more about key fundamentals of finance in a real world setting. She is also looking forward to In addition to her role on the Finance Committee, Angela is also a member of MUSE Creative, WAX Consumer and Retail Investment, and WUFC. In her free time, Angela enjoys painting, exploring a variety of mediums such as oil, watercolor, and digital art. She also loves to golf, bake, and try new restaurants in the city. Allie de Asla

Allie de Asla (Class of 2026) is from Basking Ridge, New Jersey and is majoring in Mathematical Economics in the College of Arts and Sciences with a minor in Computer and Information Sciences. She joined Wharton Women as a part of the finance committee in the Spring semester of her freshman year and is so excited to be a part of such an amazing group of women and work with other members to host engaging competitions. At Penn, Allie is also a member of Wharton Investment and Trading Group, University Honor Council and Penn Club Track and Field. Sydney Bianco

Sydney Bianco (Class of 2027) is from Miami, Florida and is planning on majoring in Economics and minoring in Statistics and Art History. She joined Wharton Women this fall and is very excited to meet new people, write for the Walnut Street Journal, and plan finance-related events and workshops. In addition to Wharton Women, she is involved in Penn Autism Alliance, Growth Equity at Penn, and Jewish Heritage Program. Nitika Desai

Nitika Desai (Class of 2026) is from Mumbai, India and is concentrating in Finance and Marketing. She joined Wharton Women in her sophomore fall and loves being a part of the finance committee and writing blogs for Walnut Street Journal. Nitika is also a part of MUSE and the Daily Pennslyvanian. Nitika loves staying active through running, hiking, and pilates. A passionate traveler, she’s always up for new adventures. Meg Anam

Meg Anam (Class of 2026) is from Frisco, Texas and is concentrating in Finance and Management at Wharton. She joined the Wharton Women Finance committee in Fall 2022 and has worked on projects such as the Spring 2023 Wharton Women stock pitch competition and Fall 2023 ‘Recruiting 101’ workshop. At Penn, Meg is involved in Off the Beat A Cappella, Consult for America, Wharton Undergraduate Consulting Club, and the Student Federal Credit Union. Lalana Karri

Lalana Karri (Class of 2026) is from Frisco, Texas (right outside of Dallas),  and is dual concentrating in Finance and ESG. She joined Wharton Women as a part of the Finance committee her freshman year and is excited to be in a group of supportive and ambitious women who serve as excellent mentors and support. Lalana is also involved with the Turner ESG Fellows program, the SFCU, Scholars of Finance, Common Cents, and SWS on campus. In her free time, she loves going to the gym, going on long walks, exploring the food scene in Philly especially cafes and brunch spots, interior design, as well as playing the violin! Alisha Luthra

Alisha Luthra (Class of 2027) is from Mclean, VA and is pursuing a dual degree in Business and Computer Science as part of the M&T Program. This is her second semester on the finance committee and is excited to continue her journey in Wharton Women. Alisha is thrilled to be part of a group of inspiring and passionate women who seek to make a difference in the Penn community through financial literacy education. Alina Markutsya

Alina Markutsya (Class of 2027) is from Ames, Iowa. She’s a sophomore at the Wharton School, concentrating in Finance and Accounting with a minor in International Relations. She joined Wharton Women as a part of the Finance Committee during her freshman year and is excited to be in a group of ambitious young women. At Penn, Alina is also involved with the Phi Chi Theta Business Fraternity, Wharton Cohorts, Joseph Wharton Scholars, and the Ukrainian Student Association. Amy Jia

Amy Jia (Class of 2027) is from Toronto, Canada and is studying Finance, Statistics, and International Studies with a French target as a part of the Huntsman Program. She joined Wharton Women’s finance committee in the spring semester of her freshman year and loved helping make resources more accessible for women interested in the finance industry. Outside of Wharton Women, she’s also involved in WUCC, GRC, WAX, and Scholars of Finance. In her free time, she loves exploring new restaurants and cafes, going on runs, doing pilates, and traveling!
